The game they tried to ban. Actually, the game they did ban.
‘Rock Star Ate My Hamster’ had the dubious honour of being banned from the multiples. An irate parent had taken objection to one of the jokes in the spoof newspaper included in the box and W H Smith pulled the game from their shelves, closely followed by Boots.
A mere twenty years later, the game was featured in the ‘50 Best Rock & Roll Video Games of All Time’ in America’s legendary Rolling Stone magazine (a feat made even more remarkable by the fact that the game was never released in the US).
